The Old Ottawa South Art and Music Festival
has always been a juried festival.
Jury Process:
Returning Artists: are
grandfathered year to year. We already know we like your stuff! Each year the
information booth gets requests for the location of an artist they saw the year
before. Submit one photo with your application, properly named for the slide
show (work title - your name.jpg)
Invited Artists: Through out
the year organizers of the show visit other shows and look for great talent. If
you have been invited to the show, you are automatically juried in. Submit one
photo with your application, properly named for the slide show (work title -
your name.jpg)
New Artists: When
submitting your application, you will check off the "new artist" section on the
on-line registration and submit three photos for review. Tell us a bit about
yourself and your work in the comments section. Having a website helps us see
more things. Submit three photos properly named (work title - your name. jpg).
One of these photos will be used for the website slide show.
What we look for: We know that
people who attend the show want a variety and selection of things in both price
range and style. We love to see an artist that has a consistent style - that is
where all the works are good and well executed as far as technique and
presentation. We accept and encourage a lot of new artists to participate. We
have seen some really great stuff over the years. Established artists come back
year after year, eagerly anticipating next year's show. The jury consists of
two artists and one non-artist. We review each application as soon as we
receive it. That way you know you are in or not and can plan for the show.
Each year we love to see artists meeting artists, bringing other artist friends
with them and inviting people to the show. It is a true community event.
Registration is not complete without
payment. The show is registered on a first come first serve basis. Proceed to registration:
Returning Artists and Invited
Artists can register in one step by submitting an on-line application
with photo and submit booth registration via PayPal. If sending registration by
cheque please print a copy of your on-line registration for tracking purposes.
If submitting via email transfer, please send us a note with the password and
question you have selected.
New Artists: please submit your
information on-line and wait a day or two for the jury to respond. Upon
confirmation of your acceptance to the show please return to www.oosartandmusicfestival.ca to
complete payment.
Once payment is received a welcome email will be
sent to confirm your registration. Proceed to payment:
Booth Assignment and Park
Map:
Information on booth assignment is posted on the
website the first week of September and sent via email to each artist. If you
do not have an email associated with your registration, you will be called by
telephone to confirm your booth number. In the event of a postal strike please
note that the information booth at the festival is located in the middle of
Windsor Park in front of the stage area under the big tree at the top of the
hill. Booth allocation will be posted as well. A map of the festival is
available on the website prior to the show and sent via email along with the
booth allocation. |
