Thank you so much for checking the Frequently Asked Questions Prior to emailing us! We
are thrilled you will be joining us as an exhibitor, musician, author or attending with your family.
Registrations are now open. They close August 15th – check back after that date to see if there
is still space (we will post on the website).
Booth assignment: comes out Sept. 1st, 2011 after all applications are processed and will be up
on the website. It will be your job to look to see where you are prior to the show.
At the show you must take home all your garbage and be set up by 10am. All booths must be kept up until 5pm.
There is no parking or bringing any vehicles onto the park grounds. All booths will be labelled on the grass in 10' x 10' sections
with your booth number. No changing booths. We provide a plot of land. You will need a tent,
chairs, etc or whatever you use to set up. There are food vendors and toilets on site. A few
thousand visitors attend each year and this is growing.
Windsor Park
Windsor Park is located off Riverdale Ave., just north of the Billings Bridge in Old Ottawa>
South. The Old Ottawa South Art Festival will take place in the area of the park marked with a
star below.
Free Admission & Parking
Admission to the Festival is FREE again this year and there is FREE parking on the surrounding
streets. Please note for artists that you must respect the city parking regulations and abide by
the city rules. You may need to move your car a couple of times throughout the day or have
someone take it home for you.
Performing Arts Stage
Stage schedule for music and dance artists will be added to the website closer to Festival day!
Our performing arts stage is located at the end of the artist’s area and there is lots of room to
hang out there all day long. Bring a picnic, buy food from our charity. Buy CD’s from the
artists.
Refreshments
Full day grill is run by a local charity and all proceeds will be going to them. Other local vendors attend as well
selling sandwiches, refreshments and desserts.
Artist Requirements
This year and as of last year, all artists are welcome to participate in our show. Our jury process
consists of reviewing three paintings or other art you submit for review. Please keep in mind this
is a family oriented show.
You need to meet 2 requirements to participate in the Old Ottawa South Art Festival as an Artist:
• Your art work must be original, meaning created by you and not from a commercially
acquired kit – no copy cat material from trademarked or other copyright things (such
as the Cat in the Hat, etc). This includes crafts and jewellery: you must have made the
beads you are using for instance or sewed and designed the clothing you are selling and it
must be unique.
• Your art work must fit into one of our “Fine Arts” categories. The acceptable media are:
• Painting
• Drawing
• Mixed Media
• Photography
• Sculpture and Carving
• Pottery and Ceramics
• Stained glass – but only if your designs are original
• Crafts
• Jewellery
You will be asked to submit three JPG images of your art work to the Organizing Committee so>
we can confirm that your art work conforms to the above. Your art work will not be judged for
style, only on its suitability for the Festival.
If you have any questions, please email us at oldottawasouth@gmail.com.
For complete information, please review our Artist Registration Form. We encourage new
Artists and students to apply!
Don't have enough work to display?
The goal of the Old Ottawa South Art Festival is to foster the local Art community, from
first time exhibitors to established Artists. This is a great place for you to get started! It's
not necessary to “fill” your booth space – you need only set up a couple of easels or a table.
However there is to be no booth sharing with another artists or jewellery maker, etc.
Registration deadline
Registration for the 2011 Festival is now open! This is our seventh year. Please fill out the online form.
If you are late there are late deadlines to getting your work up on our slide show (mid August),
and a $25.00 fee for the extra time to slot you in, but other than that you are welcome to register.

And the lower space next to the parklot off of Windsor Ave.
You will be notified of your booth location about two weeks prior to the Festival. The booth

Musicians
In addition to our local Artists, the Festival will showcase the talents of local Musicians. We will
feature a diverse variety of musical groups, each playing a short set (50 minutes).
Our City Councillor’s office is providing us with a stage. The festival is renting a tent for the
stage. The Festival will provide amps and microphones for setup. Musicians must provide any
additional needed equipment and are responsible for their own setup.
Your group may display a promotional poster or banner during your set. You may also distribute
promotional materials such as flyers, and if you have a CD, our Event Permit allows for the sale
of original artistic material. We will have an area set up this year to assist in the sale of your
CD’s and other promotional materials.
Performing Arts
Dancers, choral groups, and other Performance Artists are invited to perform on the Performing
Arts Stage.
In addition, if you have a Festival type talent such as Magician or Juggler, we invite you also to
show off your skills. Please email us at info@oosartfestival.ca We do have a parade that goes
through the park a couple of times in the day that is quite nice to participate in.
Other Participants
At this time we are also seeking commercial Vendors of food and drink, as well as generous
local business people to assist us as Sponsors.
We can always use help with publicity, such as posting flyers. There will be many volunteer
opportunities on the day of the Festival, including Greeters, MC's for the Performing Arts Stage.
